Black Stars former goalkeeper, Richard Kingson popularly known as ‘Olele’ has disclosed that he was offered $300,000 to help Czech win against Ghana during the 2016 World Cup.
According to him, a Ghanaian businessman introduced him to some foreign nationals who offered him $300,000 bribe to facilitate a win for their opponent, Czech after Ghana lost 2-0 to Italy in their opening match world cup match.
Richard Kingson further divulged that he was so confused then so he sought advice from his wife to make his final decision.
He further indicated that his wife threatened to divorce him if he betrays his country and takes the $300,000 bribe.
Richard Olele Kingson disclosed in an interview on Max Tv monitored by xorlali.com that;
“We had lost our first match to Italy and needed to win our second game against the Czech Republic. Before the game a Ghanaian businessman called me; we met and he led me to some people who offered me $300,000 just to concede two goals. ”
Evidently, Richard Kingson rejected the tempting bribe as Ghana beat Czech 2- 0 with goals from Asamoah Gyan and Sulley Muntari.
