She said this during one of the constituency debates organized by TV3, where the two leading parties had their parliamentary candidates debate and share ideas on what they would like to do when voted into power.
It was a contest between John Dumelo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the incumbent MP Madam Lydia Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
With a crowd of party supporters and constituents, Lydia Alhassan was asked what she thinks of the accusation that his team stopped John Dumelo from going ahead with the renovation of a major drainage system in the constituency.
Per the question, this act by the MP has resulted in the flooding of the area when it rains and she has been blamed for it especially when the drainage system would have solved the problem.
Well, Madam Lydia Alhassan was displeased with the question and said John Dumelo was not wise enough to know that he couldn’t have just stood up to construct a new drainage system for the constituency.
“…John Dumelo is not a wise man because if he was, he would have known that he couldn’t have just stood up one day to construct a new drainage system in the constituency,” she said amidst an uproar from the crowd.
