The parliament of Ghana is set to reconvene today 14th December 2020 just few days after the 2020 general elections.
In a press statement sighted by xorlali.com confirms that the current parliament of Ghana will be dissolved in order to swear in newly-elected legislators from the 2020 general elections parliamentary results which was held on December 7.
A notice from the House signed by the Director of Public Relations, Kate Addo said the decision to reconvene is upon the directive of the Speaker, Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye in accordance with Order 6 of the Standing Orders of the House.
The statement assured the members and staff of the House that all COVID-19 protocols will be observed at the various settings.
The House rose in November 2020, in preparation for the just ended general elections and is currently in its fourth session.
The current parliament will be dissolved at the stroke of midnight on the 6th of January 2021 to make way for the new parliament.
