Trou aux Biches

The Trou aux Biches, which lies at approximately 64 kilometres from the airport, is located on the northwest part of the island. This tourist village has turquoise, blue and fine white sandy beaches and the lush green tropical gardens. The beach has one of the best in the country.

The splendid beach complements the place, where it is a perfect romantic hiding place for couples who come for their holidays. The Trou-aux-Biches coral reef is only 250 metres from the beach and one of Mauritius’ finest snorkelling paradise.

The reef can easily be reached by swimming over shallow water, inhabited by a variety of marine species. Whether you prefer to dive or snorkel, while discovering the beautiful underwater ecosystems, you will be surprised. When you swim further out you should be particularly aware of the current. The wind often sweeps from the shore, making it harder to return.
