Naira Marley Biography

Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter born on 10th May 1991 at Agege in Nigeria. He is known as the president of his controversial fan base, “Marlians“. At the age of 11, he moved to Peckham in South London, UK. He studied at Porlock Hall before attending Walworth School, where he obtained his General Certificate of Secondary Education.

Naira Marley graduated with a distinction in business from Peckham Academy. He also studied business law at Crossways College (now Christ the King Sixth Form College).

It’s been Naira Marley’s greatest wished to become a voice-over and MC when he was young but growing up he later developed a passion for music and started singing in 2014. His best friends encouraged him to take his music career seriously which influenced him to release ‘Max Twigz” in 2015 before his debut EP Gotta Dance.

The name Naira Marley according to the Nigerian musician was inspired by legendary Bob Marley’s name.

Josiah Farouq Fashola fondly referred to as Jojo Marlian is the first son of Naira Marley. He was born on the 30th of October 2015. 

Aisha and Simiat Fashola are the joint firstborn twin daughters of Naira Marley. They were born on the 21st of April 2015.
